Traditional unaccompanied folk singers

Traditional unaccompanied folk singers nights run upstairs at Oakes Barn, St Andrews Street South, Bury St Edmunds IP33 3PH, on the first Monday of every month. Singing starts at 8.00 pm and continues till 10.30 pm with a mid-evening break.

On traditional unaccompanied folk singers nights, we welcome anyone who wishes to sing traditional folk songs or songs in a traditional style, solo or with other people, but without instrumentation.

These evenings are sing arounds, with singers taking turns around the room to give a song. The number of songs you might be called upon to sing will depend on how many other singers turn up, but there is usually time to go round the room at least twice.

General Notes

There is no running order on traditional unaccompanied folk singers nights – singers simply take turns around the room. There is no entrance fee – singers and audience members can come along for free.
